Last term ended on a high with a fantastic production of ‘Madagascar Junior’.
What an amazing achievement by everyone involved. Congratulations on a huge week and brilliant performances in ‘Madagascar’.
We are so proud of each and every one of the cast who demonstrated great resilience, talent, hard work and team work shown throughout the entire musical process. The students did themselves proud!
This was our biggest musical yet in terms of audience members with over 1000 parents, grandparents and friends watching the production.
It was a joy to watch each student grow – to see the progress they all made from the beginning of the process to the final product. Seeing students rally when they had to overcome sickness was amazing. It was fantastic to witness the ‘learning’ going on – what an educational experience for our students.
Each student was so involved in bringing the production to life; from the art work to choreography to characterisation to choosing their own tourist costume. They were all a huge part of creating ‘Madagascar’.
Thank you to the staff of SPW for their commitment to making musicals happen, working long days to make sure the SPW musical will continue for a long time to come.
Thank you to the parents for your support from pick-ups, to working backstage, to buying tickets, to fixing costumes, to finishing the art work – we could not have done it without you. Thank you for letting us work with your children and help create what we hope is a highlight of their primary years. This one will be missed for sure!
Thank you Mark DeLaine, Head of Arts, for sharing this story.
